Friday 25th February 2011
Dear Louise,
Just wanted to thank you for your group's lovely contribution to our
Social
evening on Friday. The programme you chose was just right (loved
the
Pachelbel!), very much in keeping with our ethos and the mood of the
event. I
hope your singers, and you, enjoyed it as much as we did. As you've
probably heard, some of them stayed on to hear the harpist and
the folk singer and the poet and even joined in our silly party
games!
I'll keep an eye on your website for news of your next performance.
With very best wishes to you all,
Patricia Williamson
FAURE’S REQUIEM at St James’ Church
Emsworth, Hampshire SATURDAY 15th January 2011
From Roger and Lynda George
Dear Louise
Thank you for the wonderful day on Saturday. Ian is certainly an
inspiration to us all and Richards piano playing certainly was not to be
missed. I am sure you will have lots of positive feedback from everyone
and they will all be clamouring to come to the next one. You must have
been exhausted with all the organisation and catering for us all as
well. The lunch was great.
Thanks.

Hi Louise,
My name is Dave, I photographed Rosie at the mozart choir event a week
or so ago, I hope the event went well, it certainly seemed as though it
was going to be fantastic, there were a few moments where I got a bit
emotional at the amazing sound of the choir, and that was just them
practising!........ the disc will have 170 fully edited high
resolution images for your use. (though not for resale) look forward
to hearing from you.
Kind regards
Dave

Enjoyed concert apart from going wrong in a few
places, Hope the audience didn’t notice! It’s good to sing along with
others and forget life’s stresses and strains for a few hours a week.
And, what a pleasant change to be asked to sing louder!

Regarding The "Come and Sing" event last Saturday 25th
April and the Masterclass on Sunday 26th April - at St
Paul's Church, Chichester.
The Mozart "Come and Sing" Event proved to be hard work
for the singers, but it was well worth it - and most
people managed to stay the course.
It was a shame that the tenor section was rather low,
but those who were involved chose to put their heart and
soul into the event, and effectively became soloists in
their own right.
It worked well, and I would like to congratulate them
for making that effort under difficult circumstances.
Many thanks also to Ina Garner and Rosie Hamilton
McGinty for their help with the catering and
presentation.
The Next event will take place, hopefully, in Arundel
and we are thinking of doing The Brahms Requiem.
Details will be added to the website very shortly.
Meanwhile, the masterclass for soloists on Sunday, went
very well indeed. It was much more relaxing than
Saturday, and the participants who came, sailed through
their songs and gained constructive comments on how to
progress with their solo singing.
Anyone interested in joining in the Tuscany "Inspiration
for Singers" this August - with Martin Elliott and Ian
Sadler - please contact me directly, and I will send
details and application form - or you can visit Martin's
website which can be found on this website on the links
page, and email him directly for details.
I will be organizing the cheapest flight package to Pisa
and back for all those who contacts me.
Meanwhile - our regular Wednesday development choir has
now reached 30 - and is rising. We have a good chorus
of men - equal Tenors and Basses - and likewise, Ladies
in the Altos and Sopranos.
This is a group which is developing quickly and is
definitely going places.
We presented a good concert last Wednesday, hosted by
the Emsworth Ladies Group, who presented £30 cheque for
our favourite charity, The Musician's Benevolent Fund.
The Emsworth Ladies Group proved to be excellent hosts
and we enjoyed tea and refreshments after the concert,
provided by the members especially for us.
Many thanks for that. It was much enjoyed.
Please do contact me for more details - or just come
along.
I would like to say a special CONGRATULATIONS to all
the chorus members who took solo sections in the
Mozart Requiem.
They were:
Denise Miles - Soprano
Miranda Mann - Soprano
Shaun Clay - Bass (who sang the main part)
Terry Warren - Bass
The main soloists were:
Catharine Sadler Soprano
Victoria Larly Alto
Charles Wood Tenor
Shaun Clay Bass
We were very lucky to have Victoria Larly step in at
the last moment to the vacant Alto part.
All the soloists sang wonderfully - and was a great
inspiration to the singers as a whole.
That's it for now.
Will keep everyone posted as to further developments.
Regards
Louise Russell

Firstly, many thanks for Saturday, I really enjoyed the
day........ it was very hard but very enjoyable. The
friend that came with me.....thoroughly enjoyed it too.
Your organisation was excellent!

Thanks for organizing a great day yesterday. Stan and I had
a great time and as well as having a good sing we met new
people and renewed old acquaintances.
Please let us know when you are doing something
again.
